The following comment on the P802.1AE-Rev PAR was received from 802.3: "6.1.b (registration activity) — A quick check shows the standard being revised does include registry content. IEEE Std 802.1AE-2009 has text specifying use of EUI-64 and many references to EtherType. Because both capitalizations EtherType and Ethertype are used, it would be likely the RAC would want consistent capitalization at a minimum. After reviewing the 6.1.b PAR instruction, and verifying the expected project work is for no new specifications related to registry activity, the possible response might be: Answer yes with an explanation “RAC review of previously reviewed text is appropriate to assure terminology and descriptions of usage are correct.”" The 802.1 Security Task Group reviewed this comment, and agrees with the intent. The suggested change has been incorporated in the proposed PAR. The following comment on the P802.1AE-Rev PAR was received from 802.11: "PAR 8.1 List the full name of all cited standards in the PAR" IEEE Std 802.1X Port-Based Network Access Control was cited in 5.4, and its full name has been added to 8.1. The approved amendments to IEEE Std 802.1AE cited in 5.5 [IEEE Std 802.1AEbn-2011 - Amendment 1 - Galois Counter Mode - Advanced Encryption Standard - 256 (GCM-AES-256); IEEE Std 802.1AEbw-2013 - Amendment 2 - Extended Packet Numbering; IEEE Std 802.1AEcg-2017 - Amendment 3 - Ethernet Data Encryption devices] have been added but without repeating the name of the base 802.1AE standard in each case.
