Re: [STDS-802-11-TGAZ] FRD Comment Collection

Jonathan,

In an earlier conversion that we had, you indicated that it is okay to submit a comment (without a proposed resolution) and provide a separate submission to provide the resolution,  because a certain comment may need a separate submission to provide the justifications for the proposed change. Is this still the case?

Thanks,
Qi

Hello Erik,

Being an informal comment collection (i.e. a TG internal comment collection) I know we have not set a strict format for comment submissions.
The most basic form is a word document with the 802.11 WG template and identifying:
1.       The comment
2.       proposed resolution.

If the proposed resolution included txt changes, these should follow the following:
1.       red strikethrough for deletions and
2.       dark blue underline for text additions.

As with any 802.11 submisson the submission template can be found here: http://www.ieee802.org/11/Rules/802-11-Submission-Portrait.dot

Best,
Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,

Just wondering, how do we actually make a comment to the FRD. Do we just upload a document with the comment to the TGaz document servers, maybe one of those 802.11 comment excel spread sheets and maybe send an email to you and the TGaz email list? I don’t think we have more formal comment collection tool in place, right?

Best Regards,
Erik

Dear TGaz,

During the last IEEE week TGaz passed the following motion:
“Move to approve the Functional Requirement Document 11-17-424-05 with additions made during the May meeting and start a 45 day comment collection,
limiting the duration of the subsequent comment resolution to the end of the next face to face IEEE 802.11 WG meeting.”

With this email the FRD comment collection is hereby initiated.
Comments to the FRD 11-17-424-05 may be submitted till July 1st EOD.

To help our editor, comments to FRD should be submitted as a new submission with reference to TG approved FRD for CC including:
1.       Relevant section and where available subsection or paragraph number change refers to.
2.       If applicable indicate the requirement number change is proposed for  (TGaz R# where # is the requirement number).
3.       If this is a new requirement indicate preferred section, subsection for new text.
