Re: [STDS-802-11-TGAZ] CID 1521

Hi Ganesh,

Thanks!

I wasn’t thinking that we necessarily need to add a new section for the MLME for the passive location ranging, but as much as possible specify it as a variant of what we describe for the TB Ranging case.

In any case, from what I understand we need to do something like this:

·        Add a figure showing the time-stamps, CFOs, etc. that are passed in the passive location case, as they are a little different from the base TB ranging case.

·        Add note(s) corresponding to the Passive Location Ranging case where the time-stamps are discussed.

·        Add a way to convey the passive location ranging time-stamps, CFO, etc. in the MLME-FINETIMINGMSMT.indication. My understanding is that as the text is written now, this is the only place in the MLME we pass these quantities for the 802.11az ranging.

Also, for the MLME for the 802.11az ranging in general, in the MLME-FINETIMINGMSMT.request we seem to be missing section for the referred NGP Parameter element. We do have an entry and reference to the Fine Timing Measurements Parameters element though. Do we need more than that here?

Erik

Hello Eric:

I can work with you on this if you think that would help.

Are you looking to create new MLMEs for Passive Ranging?

Cheers --

ganesh

Hi Roy,

I guess I am suggesting that maybe someone more familiar with our MLME text may want to take on CID 1521 and the related MLME sections. That said, I can certainly help out with the passive location related aspects in the MLME if need be.

As for the other comments I volunteered for, I think the majority of them are covered by the sections you know already have me signed up for. The remaining ones, if they are assigned to someone else my plan was to work with those assignees to come up with good proposals for resolutions.

Erik,

I would like to resolve your request relating to Passive ranging, but I think you need to look at the spreadsheet and come to agreement with the other resolvers who have already claimed those sections. Please can you work this out on a side channel, and then let me know what you agreed between you.

Thanks,

Erik,

So you are asking for CID:1521  which is in section 6.3.56.1.

There are other comments in that section. I'm assuming you want the whole section?

Your more recent email suggests a larger scope too. Please can you respond with the exact list of sections you are asking for.

Thanks,

You are right, then I’ll ask to have it assigned to me.

1521 is not assigned to me … do you mean 1531/1532?

Hi Christian,

The figure asked for ‘Passive Location Ranging’ in CID 1521 should probably be located in one of the sections I have assigned to me so if you want I can take on this CID.
