Re: [STDS-802-11-TGBA] NWIP in SC6 overlapping 802.11ba

Minyoung,
thank you for creating an excellent comparison of the ISO project and 11ba. I've also been following this proposed ISO project since it was presented at the ISO/IEC JTC1 SC6 meeting in February and also agree that ISO should use 11ba.  There are some minor differences (for example, proposed packet lengths) and therefore I think that the supporters of the ISO project should present these directly to TGba to see if some accommodation can be made.

Kind regards

Stephen McCann

Hi Rojan,

I agree with you. That should be the right direction to take.

Thanks,

Hi Minyoung,

Thanks for putting this together, its very educational. The ISO project seems to be “highly inspired” by 11ba. I wonder if it makes more sense for ISO to directly use 802.11ba for the project, it seems ISO does publish IEEE 802.11 specifications under their banner:

Hello Andrew,

I've prepared a document comparing TGba and the project being proposed in ISO/IEC:

G’day TGba

The IEEE 802 JTC1 SC follows activities in ISO/IEC JTC1/SC6. TGba may be interested in a proposed New Work Item in SC6 that seems to have considerable overlap with 802.11ba. Have a look at slides 115-117 in the JTC1 SC agenda for 5-7pm ET on Monday, 13 July 2020. Please send me any comments and suggestions, and please attend the JTC1 SC teleconference to discuss.
