[STDS-802-11] Call for input to Reply Comments on the Comments made regarding the FCC NPRM 19-138

--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Working Group Reflector ---

Dear All,

As you are probably aware 802 has submitted comments to the FCC on the matter of:  Use of the 5.850-5.925 GHz Band ET Docket No. 19-138

18-20-0020-19-0000-comments-on-fcc19-138-nprm-revisiting-use-of-the-5-850-5-925-ghz-band.pdf

The FCC process is still open to Reply Comments, until 6 April 2020.

802.18 is currently working on a Reply Comments document.

Several 802.18 participants have put together a summary document of the filings to the FCC: https://mentor.ieee.org/802.18/dcn/20/18-20-0038-02-0000-nprm-19-138-5-9-ghz-comment-review.pptx

This summary provides linked lists of filings that were Pro or Con DSRC technology, or technically discuss OOBE.

This document is not exhaustive, all filings have not been reviewed and is based on a quick review by the authors. Note: this document may be updated.

All 393 fillings are available at: https://www.fcc.gov/ecfs/search/filings?limit=25&offset=0&proceedings_name=19-138&sort=date_disseminated,DESC

The 802.18 Reply Comments document will address at least the following topics:

  1. Statements rebutting DSRC comments that are incorrect
  2. Statements in support of DSRC comments
  3. Statements rebutting C-V2X comments that are incorrect
  4. Statements in support of C-V2X comments

It is likely that the filings that are Pro or Con DSRC contain such statements and interested parties are encouraged to review these documents and generate text contributions to 802.18, that can be included in the Reply Comments document.

802.18 is calling for these text contribution ASAP, preferably prior to the Tuesday 17 March ad hoc teleconference.

As 802.18 seeks to approve the Reply Comments document during the 802.18 Thursday 19 March 2020 @3:00 PM Teleconference.

As this will allow time for 802 EC approval via 10 day ballot prior to the 6 April 2020 submission deadline.

To progress the work on the document 802.18 will have ad hoc teleconferences on Monday 16 March, Tuesday 17 March, and Wednesday 18 March all @ 3:00 PM.  Teleconference WebEx information is provide on final few slides of: https://mentor.ieee.org/802.18/dcn/20/18-20-0036

Regards,
