--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Working Group Reflector ---
Dear 802.11 members,

Please see the email below, and the included request for comments document.

Given the short timeframe, any initial response would need to be via 802.18; the next 802.18 meeting is tomorrow, 2020-06-04.

Thanks,

Dorothy

Subject: RFC on National Strategy to Secure 5G Implementation Plan

Dorothy, Justin,

USDOT has asked us to inform the SDO WGs we are participating in that NTIA has issued a RFC on a National Strategy for Secure 5G. The comment response date is June 18. If you feel appropriate, please pass this information on to the members of your respective WGs (IEEE 802.11, IEEE 802.18, IEEE 1609).

The US Government is looking at the opportunities and challenges of implementing 5G.  On Friday the 22nd, they released a Request for Comment at this link: https://www.ntia.gov/federal-register-notice/2020/request-comments-national-strategy-secure-5g-implementation-plan.  The input and responses will likely form a basis for developing/enacting an implementation plan (and includes a security focus).
