A very early draft of the IEEE 802.11 Coexistence SC  agenda is available in 11-20-1620-00. The exact date/time of the Coex SC session during the November plenary is still being sorted out, but the agenda will mainly focus on recent activities in ETSI BRAN, particularly in relation to coexistence in the 5 GHz band (there is a lot happening).  I plan to provide the usual updates.

 

However, during the discussion of the revised scope of the Coexistence SC, both during the SC and WG meetings in September 2020, it was noted that the Coexistence SC would be more effective with more contributions from its stakeholders. I agree, at least partially because it would mean less work by me to prepare for the Coex SC sessions.

 

Therefore, I would like to make an explicit call for submissions on any relevant topic, including:

• Studies of coexistence between Wi-Fi and LAA (or NR-U) in real deployments
• The proposal in ETSI BRAN for synchronous access in 6 GHz
• What needs to change in EN 301 893 and EN 303 687 to allow 802.11be to operate in Europe?
• The impact on Wi-Fi of a recent proposal for Frequency Hopping in the 6 GHz band in Europe
• The impact on Wi-Fi of LAA/NR-U using ED-only @ -62 dBm in 5 GHz
• Status of relevant activities in 3GPP related to NR and NR-U in 6 GHz
• etc
