[STDS-802-11] FCC's NPRM on 60 GHz (a tentative agenda on the May 2023 open commission meeting)

--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Working Group Reflector ---
Dear 802.18 members,
cc 802.11, 802.15, and 802.19 members,

For the upcoming FCC May 2023 open commission meeting, the following NPRM on 60 GHz is included as a tentative agenda item:
Allowing Expanded Flexibility and Opportunities for Unlicensed Operations in the 60 GHz Band Report and Order, ET Docket No. 21-264.

As per the description, this NPRM "would provide new opportunities for unlicensed field disturbance sensor devices, such as radars, to operate in the 57-71 GHz band (60 GHz band) and foster innovative products and services while ensuring coexistence with other unlicensed technologies and Federal incumbents in the band."

For details, you can refer to the draft NPRM that is available at:
https://docs.fcc.gov/public/attachments/DOC-392978A1.pdf

We will follow up on this draft NPRM in our May 2023 wireless interim.

Regards,
Edward
