[STDS-802-11] Brazil's consultation related to 6 GHz (for IMT)

--- This message came from the IEEE 802.11 Working Group Reflector ---
Dear 802.18 members,
cc 802.11, 802.15, 802.19 members,

Brazil ANATEL recently began a consultation "Granting Subsidy on the demand for radiofrequency spectrum in Brazil" that seeks public opinions on how to manage the radio frequency spectrum efficiently.

For details, please visit:
https://apps.anatel.gov.br/ParticipaAnatel/VisualizarTextoConsulta.aspx?TelaDeOrigem=2&ConsultaId=20211

Most of the questions the administration asked related to the IMT implementation.  For example, Question 6 asked for the following:

6. Considering that the 6 GHz radio frequency band is currently planned for the use of restricted radiation equipment in Brazil and observed the tendency to use part of this band for implementing IMT systems in certain regions and/or countries, what are the solutions that could be adopted for the use of this band in Brazil?
6.1. What is the business model that could be adopted to explore this range by systems that use restricted radiation equipment?
6.2. What are the specific applications for the use of restricted radiation equipment that would justify the demand for 1,200 MHz for this type of system and when would these applications be commercially available on a large scale?

If you believe IEEE 802 LMSC should prepare a response, please note that the comment submission deadline is 25 March 2024, and IEEE 802.18 needs to approve a contribution no later than the end of the closing meeting of the IEEE 802.18 March 2024 plenary (i.e., 0800 MT to 1000 MT, Thursday, 14 March 2024).

Regards,
Edward
