History

TG4g received NesCom approval December 9th 2008. The TG4g PAR can be viewed here. TG4g held its first meeting at the 802 Interim meeting in Los Angeles January 2009. During this meeting it agreed the Call for Applications and Call for Proposals.

A Call for Applications was issued on February 2nd 2009. Presentations were given at the March Plenary, held in Vancouver March 8th to 13th 2009.

A Call for Proposals was issued January 22nd 2009. Preliminary Proposals were presented at the March Plenary, held in Vancouver March 8th to 13th 2009.

24 Final Proposals were submitted by May 2nd 2009 of which 22 were presented to TG4g at the IEEE 802 Interim meeting in Montreal May 10th to 15th 2009. A summary of the proposals can be found here.

Between July 2009 and November 2009, the merging and refinement of proposals continued.  At the end of the November 2009 meeting there were 3 complimentary, merged proposals for FSK/GFSK, OQPSK and OFDM. Candidate draft text was created from these proposals and comments were solicited prior to the January 2010 meeting.  Comment resolution started at the January meeting and was completed at the March 2010 meeting. The comment resolutions can be found here.

At the March 2010 meeting, the technical editors were instructed to prepare a draft and the Working Group approved a motion for Letter Ballot - LB51.
