IEEE 802.16 AOE Deadline Documentation

IEEE 802.16 Working Group ballot deadlines are established as the end of day "AOE", for "Anywhere on Earth." This means that the deadline has not passed if, anywhere on earth, the deadline date has not yet passed.

The time on Howland Island, in the IDLW time zone, is the latest on the globe. Therefore, the day ends AOE when it ends on Howland Island. You can check the time on Howland Island using this AOE Time Reference.

You can also use a link to find your local time at day's end AOE. This may vary, depending on your local use of Summer Time (Daylight Savings Time). Sample charts are provided here for each:

Note that the day's end AOE occurs at noon UTC of the following day.

Informative note: These charts are set to the time in Pago Pago at one hour past midnight on the second day of the month. That is when the first day of the month ends AOE, because the IDLW is one time zone west of Pago Pago. We use Pago Pago as a reference here because the web site timeanddate.com does not currently have a lookup point in IDLW. However, that's not of any importance. The links still show the local time at the end of the first day of the month AOE.
