RE: stds-802-16-tg4: RE: stds-802-16: February Interim Meeting fortheWirelessHUMAN T ask Group

Hi Mariaanna

There are several different because of the Co Existence with 802.11/15,
Anti-Jamming protection and the channel behavior.

I believe that in TG-4 we have more technical staff to consider ahead.

all the best to all

Dear Durga,

I do not think that a system in 5GHz will be essentially different from one
in 2-11GHz.

Most of the 802.16 MAC modifications done for Sub11 will be relevant for
HUMAN also.

Probably also the PHY will not differ so much.

I fear that dot4 and dot3 try to invent the same wheel in the same time.

I think that HUMAN should first define what wants to achieve, and what is
really

different from dot3. Should start with the beginning. And follow mainly the
Sub11

 achievements.

Cheers,

Group

All,

The IEEE 802.16 WirelessHUMAN Task Group will have a February Interim
meeting to narrow down the list of proposed modifications (to 802.16
MAC and 802.11a-HIPERLAN/2 PHY) that are received in response to the
current call for
tributions(
http://www.ieee802.org/16/tg4/docs/802164-00_01.pdf ) for the
WirelessHUMAN standard.

The meetings will take place in San Jose on February 15 and February
16. The WirelessHUMAN Task Group will meet from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
on Feb 15, and from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Feb 16. The exact meeting
venue and hotel arrangements are currently being finalized, and full
details will be posted early next week.

In order to facilitate arrangements for meeting rooms and hotel
arrangements, it is necessary to have an idea of the number of
attendees. If you are planning on attending this Interim meeting,
please inform me by email ASAP. Many thanks to Mika Kasslin of Nokia
for hosting this meeting for the WirelessHUMAN Task Group.
