IEEE 802.16's Session #37 was held 2-5 May 2005 in Sorrento, Italy, near Napoli. The session was hosted by Giulio Cavalli of corporate host Siemens Communications. The decision to select this site was made on 19 November 2004 based on the host's site selection proposal and alternative proposals for Beijing and Taipei.

The session opened at 9 am on Monday morning and end on Thursday night. The schedule of meetings for the week shows the plans for Working Group and Task Group meetings The agendas of the various task groups were driven by input received in response to solicitations. Click here for on-line registration. The registration fee was €220 for those registering on-line by the deadline of 4 April 2005 AOE. Afterwards, the fee climbed to €250. The registration fee was payable on-site by credit card.
On-line registration was mandatory. Session participation credit was not granted without it.

The meeting takes place during the beginning of high spring season; therefore, please reserve your room as soon as possible! The cutoff date for hotel reservations through Siemens for special room rate as shown in the form is 25 April 2005. Please use the hotel reservation form; you can complete this form electronically and then email it to Mrs. Daniela Palomba - email@example.com. Booking can only be confirmed if all fields of this form are filled in. Accommodation fares are to be settled on checking out of the hotel.
For organizational reasons, please indicate ASAP any requirements for pre- or post-event weekend overnight accommodation. Since only a limited number of rooms are available over these weekends at Hotel Hilton Sorrento Palace, where the conference has to be held, we require timely booking if we are to meet your accommodation needs at the Hilton.
Please indicate in the hotel reservation form if you require airport transfer from and to Capodichino Airport of Naples. Shuttle bus service cost is € 15 each way per passenger. Participants' transfers fare are to be settled on checking out of the hotel.

Shuttle service is only for those staying at the Hilton Sorrento Palace who have requested this service on their hotel reservation form. The hostess at the airport, who will display an IEEE 802.16 sign, has a complete list of the admitted people. If additional seats are available, other people registered for the session can also use the service.

Capodichino Airport of Naples (Aeroporto Napoli Capodichino; code NAP) is 40 km - more or less 1 hour - away. See "Hotel Reservation" above for information on airport transfer.
From Rome Different connections per hour - journey of about 80 minutes - price ~€ 20.
From Napoli From the Station "Napoli Centrale" or "Piazza Garibaldi" - take the CIRCUMVESUVIANA line (every 30 minutes from 5:00 am to 10:30 pm from Naples to Sorrento) - journey of about 1 hour - price €3.50).
From Rome "Tiburtina" Station Departure at 3:00 pm (working days) and arrival in Sorrento Piazza Tasso at 6:45 pm - price €15.50 per person.
From Naples Airport (journey of about 1 hour) - price €6 per person.
From Sorrento Piazza Tasso to Hilton Sorrento Palace (journey of about 10 minutes) - price €1 per person.

From Naples Take the A3 motorway to Salerno. Exit CASTELLAMARE DI STABIA - SS 145 to Sorrento (more or less 70 minutes).
