RE: [RPRWG] Definition of terms - First set

Harmen,
I have two more terms that I believe should be added (as Bob pointed out there may already be an "official" IEEE definition for these term, and in that case we may use it):
Steering: A protection scheme in which upon becoming aware of a ring failure, each transmitting node moves all its transmit flows to avoid the failed segment.
Wrapping: A protection scheme in which a node detecting a ring failure at one of its ring interfaces, loops packets back at the failed interface.

Dear Leon

Thank you for your comments. I have made the corrections. The revised list will be posted at the end of the week.

Best regards, Harmen

Harmen,
In RPR we are defining CoS (Classes of Service), analogous with DiffServ and VLAN tagging, so instead of "Ring QoS classes" it should be "Ring CoS: Service classes that ...."
Same comment for "MAC Buffer scheduling" definition, replace "In case of ring QoS classes" with "When using different CoS"
