Hi Vivek,

Just wanted to correct something in the minutes. I've been quoted as
saying "We need to clearly specify what type of frame mgmt/data is
needed for each message", which is not quite what the sentiment behind
my statement was;o)

What (I hope) I actually said was; we need to clearly specify the
information that needs to be transported, and what the characteristics
of that transport should be (with regard to when it is made available,
what timing constraints there may be) so that 802.11 can make a decision
about what type of frame is best suited for delivering the information.

[Vivek G Gupta]
Maybe I did not capture this appropriately, but the intent all along has
been to capture/gather clear requirements from .21 perspective.

This shouldn't stop 802.21 making recommendations on what it feels would
be the best transport, but I don't think we should *require* 802.11 to
implement 802.21 recommendations since in theory the expertise to make
these decisions resides in the 802.11 WG.

[Vivek G Gupta]
I think we mentioned this upfront in the telecon (and you may have
missed the starting few minutes..) that 802.21 would be just passing on
requirements to 802.11. All possible amendments listed in the doc are
just suggestions based on thinking and discussions in 802.21 and
hopefully they help 802.11 WG in the process of coming up with suitable
amendments and in beter understanding the requirements from 802.21 as
well. Even the title heading in the doc reads "Suggested Amendments".
It is clearly completely up to 802.11 WG to decide what the suitable
amendments are since they have the necessary expertise.
We are doing similar thing with 802.16g as well.
