Re: [802.21] Telecon April 27

Title:
Vivek, Srini:

A few issues here:

1) Not sure the 802.21 group had provided a  mandate to attach 802.21 name to any of these letters/contributions. Not sure I saw a motion for any of these, let alone approved motion.
2) Practically, if any of our members indicates this is coming from 802.21 he/she will fail to achieve the stated goal in 3GPP (which in my mind should be at best to provide same type of contribution that was accepted by 802.16g). So practically I will not advice it and the one to submit the 3GPP contributions better actually not be affiliated with 802.21.
3) If ((Srini is implying == after  (t => May) we may want to make it an official tone)) go to step 2

Hi Vivek,
I wish we had time to discuss this in a F2F and have worded more carefully on what we would like to achieve in 3GPP. I think we should still do it in the May meeting.  While we are doing this, as Peretz suggested it would be better to provide as individual companies' view without using the 802.21 name. Soon after May meeting we could impart an official tone to this.

Hello Peretz,

We shall keep alive the theme of today’s conference call.

In 21-06-0605-00-000-FMC-2.doc we can change as follows:
“IEEE 802.21 members are planning to attend 3GPP-SA2 meetings and suggest appropriate changes to 3GPP specifications as well. We welcome FMCA members to participate in the May IEEE meeting and provide additional contributions related to above areas.”

Please let us know if that meets your needs.

Best Regards

-Vivek

Vivek:

The following paragraph in 21-06-0605-00-000-FMC-2.doc

IEEE 802.21 is planning to attend 3GPP-SA2 meetings and suggest appropriate changes to 3GPP specifications as well. We welcome FMCA members to participate in the May IEEE meeting and provide additional contributions related to above areas.

Is contradicting the theme of the conf call today, where we agreed that
21-06-0615-00-0000-3GPP-S2-021278.doc will not be  introduced as an 802.21 contribution.

Subject: 802.21 Telecon schedule until May 2006 interim

Hello 802.21 Members,

In the March plenary there was a request to have two 802.21 telecons, one to discuss LB process and another in May to discuss Comment Resolution from LB.

However given the number of issues that need resolution and also the co-ordination we need to do with external SDOs, many of you have suggested the need for weekly telecons until the May meeting.

As such we shall be holding weekly telecons on Thursdays at 9 AM EST starting from March 30th onwards until the May interim.

Members are encouraged to send any agenda topics they may be interested in advance to the Chair.

Please also include the desired date of telecon you are interested in along with duration for the agenda item.

We can then collect all the items and send out the meeting agenda for different telecons.

If there are no agenda items for a teleconference in a particular week we shall just cancel that teleconference.

Based on inputs so far, the tentative telecon agenda for next few weeks is as follows:

Thursday March 30 9AM EST:                Discuss LB process (60 mins)

Thursday April 6     9AM EST:                QoS Proposal Update

Thursday April 13   9AM EST:                 FMCA Requirements Update (60 mins)

Thursday April 20   9AM EST:                 IETF

Thursday April 27   9AM EST:                 3GPP/IP Pre-establishment

Thursday May 04   9AM EST:                 LB Comment Resolution:

Thursday May 11   9AM EST:                 ??

Best Regards,

-Vivek
