RE: session ID

Hello Miriam,

A session ID could certainly be used as you describe below. However the use of session ID is optional as described in the current draft.

You may want to highlight other aspects of your contribution here or discuss them with other members to get better perspective.

Alternately you can present this at one of the 802.21 teleconferences as well to get more feedback.

Best Regards

-Vivek

Subject: session ID

Dear 802.21 members,

I understand that during the Dallas meetings there was an “informal understanding” that the session ID currently defined in the D2.00 draft should be used for the purpose of correlating an event subscription and its notifications/indications. Although in the draft the session ID seems to have a broader meaning it is not needed for other purposes.

Since we are working on future contributions based on that, I would like to reach to all the members and check if there is an agreement on that or not.  That will be very helpful for us to direct our contribution in the right direction.

Thanks in advance for your feedback,

Miriam
