RE: [802.21] MIH Switch command

Hi Sanjib,

The WG reached a conclusion that the Switch command can be equivalently served by NET_HO_COMMIT. I need to emphasise that the NET_HO_COMMIT does not necessarily follow a candidate query as indicated in the flow diagrams in the annex. For e.g. if the network MIH already knows the candidate network that the MN sees via MIH ES and a handover decision can made based on that information, a NET_HO_COMMIT can be issued.

Srini

Subject: [802.21] MIH Switch command

Hi All

As per draft 5.02, in MN initiated handover, after getting the
MIH_MN_HO_Commit confirm by MN, L2 handover is done.
But earlier (as per draft 4) L2 handover was done using MIH_Switch command.

What is purpose of removing MIH_Switch command from draft 5.2?

please comment....

Thanks & Regards
