Hello Subir,
In case I don't wake up on time, here are a few
comments.
- Run spell. I found, for instance, "indepedent",
"enbale", "indedepedent", "ammendment"
How did you get to 802.21m when right now we are
only up to 802.21d?
I do not understand the need to extract MIIS from
802.21, if we were (for instance) to restructure
802.21 so that various services were independently
provided by MIH_PoS (or MGW).
Is this Network Discovery intended to be related to
the proposal I have made for "Access information DB"?
Is it intended to be related to the subject of the recent
802.11 "service discovery" study group (I think renamed
to be "PAD)?
I didn't understand the reason that Semiconductor
manufacturers would be stakeholders in 802.21.1;
perhaps one more sentence could be added?
For 802.21m, I didn't see any "Changes in purpose" --
i.e., it was identical to "Purpose".
Finally, I would like to suggest that the 802.21.1 revision
look at simplifying by emphasizing the "SFF" mode of
operation and offering the other commands as optional.
If we do that, we have a chance to support the SFF
standards more easily. I am not sure about this, but it
does need some discussion. This goes along with my
previous observation that it's difficult to imagine any
wireless handsets that DON'T support layer-2 network
entry, at least for the near to medium term future.
Therefore, if the handsets support layer-2, then the SFF
model of handover is very natural and does not require
that the UE make the translation into more abstract
802.21 quantities.
