First Ad-Hoc meeting was held yesterday.

Challenge was presented and discussed.
Group agreed that the challenge is to come up with a coherent proposal for return-loss for TP0, TP0a and TP2 as well as the symmetrical points on the Rx side.
Main cause for package return loss waveform was suggested to be the interaction of package trace tolerance + die impedance tolerance as well as discontinuities at both ends.
We discussed thoroughly the return loss that the OIF-25G-LR uses and it was discussed that this was what the OIF group of people thought is needed in order to overcome the target interconnect.

A.Rs were as follows:
- Supply package trace simulation results without taking into account discontinuities. – [Liav]
- Remove non relevant (short) traces from PKG simulation and define “achievable” RL – [Liav]
- Run IEEE target interconnects and come-up with the desired TP0/TP5 RL (using COM) – [Liav]
- Further PKG simulations from other people would be welcome.
