Hello Everyone -

Thank you for your patience as we (Beth, Kent, and Matt) figure out the next steps!  We’re all in “uncharted waters” here…

At a High Level

As leadership, we’ve decided to take advantage of teleconferences as a replacement of the work we had intended to do in Atlanta.  The working group (WG) rules currently prevent us from holding motions on the phone, however, work is happening in the background to enable this function.  The .3ck Task Force will have a series of telephonic interims, similar to our Ad Hocs, however, a few restrictions will apply given the limited time (13 hours of calls instead of 24hrs at a face-to-face).  Essentially, we have 1 month to make a decision on Draft 1.2 (much of this is relys on offline consensus building of “big ticket items” that we previously identified).  There is no time to craft solutions, debate wording, or review items in great detail “on the floor”.  If we have any chance of progressing to draft 1.2, we’ll need to move quickly and trust in our editorial team’s use of editorial license.

Telephonic Interims

Monday 3/16 (7-9am PDT), Wednesday 3/18* (6-9am PDT), Wednesday 3/25 (7-9am PDT), Monday 3/30 (7-9am PDT), Wednesday 4/1 (7-9am PDT), Wednesday 4/8 (7-9am PDT)

*Please take note that the Wednesday we were supposed to be at the plenary starts an hour early

Presentations

Request for Presentation Deadline: Extended to Monday 3/9 AOE

As the travel restrictions may have effected your thoughts on if you were presenting or not, I’m extending the deadline for you to finalize your intentions.

Presentation PDFs Deadline: Extended to Wednesday 3/11 AOE

Presentations will be held to a strict 10 minute window; Bullet points and facts will be your friend.  Remember, your presentations during comment resolution should be “I propose ____, and here is why.  ___ people support this proposal.”  Backup information could be helpful for those reviewing the presentations offline or trying to verify your data.

Our Commitments to You

-              Clearly identify agenda of presentations and comments for each meeting at least 2 business days prior

-              Report closed comments after the meeting (you’ll have roughly 42 hours to object)

-              Communicate status as we go

Our Expectations of You

-              Have offline discussion on the big ticket items

-              Review comments and presentations ahead of time

-              Send wording concerns prior to the meeting

Again… Thank you for your patience, understanding, and flexibility!  We are all learning together and making the best out of a tough situation.  May you and your family remain safe and healthy this flu season!

~Beth & Kent

PS - Next week’s ad hocs 3/11 & 3/12 (C2M focused) will remain in place and will operate as usual: Requests due Monday, Presentations Tuesday by noon PDT.
