Dear 802.3av task force members,

At this meeting, the task force has resolved 298 new comments, including two comments submitted from the floor. We also revisited some of the remaining unsatisfied comments, and, in some cases, revised our previous responses. All accepted responses are available at http://www.ieee802.org/3/av/public/2008_11/3av_0811_comments_d2_1_accepted.pdf

The following is our timeline for the second recirculation ballot.

2) December 3, 2008 - Draft D2.2 is published
3) December 3, 2008 - 2nd recirculation ballot on P802.3av/D2.2 begins
4) December 18, 2008 - Comments on D2.2 are due
5) December 18, 2008 - 2nd recirculation ballot on P802.3av/D2.2 closes
6) January 5, 2009 - D2.2 Proposed comment responses are posted
7) January 12-16, 2009 - D2.2 comment resolution at January Interim meeting

Please, note that at this time, the above dates are projections. Watch for ballot announcements on the reflector.

According to 802.3av timeline adopted at the November 2007 meeting, the deadline for last technical change was at this (November 2008) meeting. The sponsor ballot is expected to start after the January 2009 meeting, subject to satisfying the following conditions:

a) Recirculation ballot on D2.2 is completed.

b) After resolution of the recirculation ballot is completed, the approval percentage is at least 75% and there are no new DISAPPROVE votes.

c) No technical changes, as determined by the WG Chair, were made as a result of the recirculation ballot.

d) No new valid DISAPPROVE comments on new issues that are not resolved to the satisfaction of the submitter from existing DISAPPROVE voters.

e) If the WG Chair determines that there is a new invalid DISAPPROVE comment or vote, the WG Chair shall promptly provide details to the EC.

f) The WG Chair shall immediately report the results of the ballot to the EC including: the date the ballot closed, vote tally and comments associated with any remaining disapproves (valid and invalid), the WG responses and the rationale for ruling any vote invalid.

Thank you,
Glen
