[802.3_400G] Straw Poll Results So Far

All,

Reminder that tomorrow we will start at 8:30am.

I wanted to share the results of the straw polls taken tonight so people can consider them for tomorrow.   Please see below.

Straw Poll #2

IEEE 802.3bs should target the initial 400GbE electrical chip-to-chip interface to be based on bit-rate per lane of:

a) 25G   24+19+21 =64

b) 40G   0

c) 50G   7+10+14 = 31

d) 100G                0

Straw Poll #3

IEEE 802.3bs should target the initial 400GbE electrical chip-to-module interface to be based on bit-rate per lane of:

a) 25G                   14+19+16=49

b) 40G                   0

c) 50G                   2+4+10 = 16

d) 25 & 50G         10+7+7 = 24

Straw Poll #4 A/B

A. I believe that 2km 400GbE SMF PMD will  use a duplex fiber solution

       Yes                         18+25+27 = 70

       No                          0+5+1 = 6

B.I believe that 10km 400GbE SMF PMD will  use a duplex fiber solution

       Yes                         25+33+27 = 85

       No                          0

Straw Poll #5 (Chicago Rules)

For 2km duplex SMF 400GbE PMD, I believe the TF should select a proposal based on an effective bit rate per wavelength per direction of

a)      25G                        1+1+3 = 5

b)      50G                        16+17+18=51

c)       100G                      23+24+30 = 77

d)      400G                      4+4+2 = 10

Straw Poll #6

For 10km duplex SMF 400GbE PMD, I believe the TF should select a proposal based on an effective bit rate per wavelength per direction of

a)      25G                        2+1+2 = 5

b)      50G                        14+19+20 = 53

c)       100G                      24+22+28=74

d)      400G                      4+2+5 = 11
