[STDS-802-3-400G] Odpoveď: [STDS-802-3-400G] OIF Communication - Progress of OIF-CEI-56G projects

I have a technical proposal for FEC settings. At the beginning, we should find out the channel capacity by sending some amount of data. If we find out what amount of data could be sent errorless, we can increase this amount of data. In this phase, we must define FEC, because if we send more data than the errorless capacity of the channel is, there will be more errors, that we need to correct. I made a measurements during my studies, and the amount of data that was sent in addition to basic channel capacity made more errors, but FEC was able to correct it. The redundancy of FEC was less than the additional amount of data, so the connection speed was in fact higher.

Please consider.
