Re: [STDS-802-3-400G] March Plenary Material Posted

Dear colleagues,

I have made yesterday a Matlab simulation. Let me describe:

The method for increasing the transmission speed, that I have tried to simulate in Matlab,
was based on setting higher number of bits, that we put into the subchannels by the modulator,
than the number of bits allowed by the measurement of Signal-To-Noise Ratio for the subchannels.
What happened was that more transmission errors occured, but the application of Reed-Solomon
codes helped to eliminate these errors and as a result I gained higher transmission speed than
in case of respecting the Signal-To-Noise Ratio for each subchannel.
We also need higher amount of modulation symbols alphabet to support higher data rate.

All,

I need to update the agenda deck, as the formatting cut off all the presentations that will be considered on Sunday.

They include - wertheim_3bs_01_0317, gustlin_3bs_02_0317, gustlin_3bs_03_0317, shrikhande_3bs_01_0317, ghiasi_3bs_01_0317.

Dear Task Force Participants,

Material for our Plenary meeting has been uploaded.  Please see http://www.ieee802.org/3/bs/public/17_03/index.shtml

As previously discussed, our meeting will start Sunday at 1pm.  Please note on the schedule that the exact time that the Task Force will address the Clock Content is not defined, as this will be dealt with during comment resolution.

Safe travels to everyone over the weekend.  See you Sunday in Vancouver, BC.

Regards,

John D’Ambrosia
