[802.3_40GSMF] March 2010 Plenary - 40Gb/s Ethernet SMF study group meeting announcement

Title: March 2010 Plenary  - 40Gb/s Ethernet SMF study group meeting announcement
Dear Study Group Members,

The IEEE 40Gb/s Ethernet Single-mode Fibre PMD Study Group will be meeting on the morning of Wednesday March 17th, 2010 during the March IEEE 802 Plenary Meeting being held in Orlando, FL, USA.

The Study Group made excellent progress at the January interim in New Orleans and has pre-submitted much of its documentation to the Working Group and EC in advance of the March Plenary meetings.  During the Wednesday meeting, we will be reviewing the documentation and making any necessary modifications that arise from other 802.3 participants who will be invited to solicit questions and feedback during the Plenary.

On Thursday afternoon at the closing plenary, the 802.3 Working Group will review and vote on the approval of the Study Group’s Objectives, 5 Criteria responses and PAR.  Please consider this when making your travel arrangements.

Meeting details may be found at http://ieee802.facetoface-events.com/plenary.      You are strongly encouraged to make your reservations as soon as possible.  Visit the meeting registration web site to register for the meetings.  Web pre-registration has been extended to 2am UTC, Saturday, February 22, 2010 (UTC Time: Saturday, February 13, 2010, 2am).

The agenda for the meeting will be to focus on the finalization of the documentation to ensure our request to become a Task Force is granted.  While it is premature to begin technical selection of solutions until we are a Task Force, any presentations adding further support to the Objectives, 5 Criteria responses and PAR would be considered appropriate.  However, due to our limited meeting time since many of our members are also participating in the 802.3ba meetings, we will prioritize the agenda to focus on topics relevant to approving the documentation.

Anyone wishing to present, please provide the following information (per Procedure for Presenters web page):
