[802.3_4PPOE] Pair to Pair Channel Resistance Unbalance straw poll - last call

If you intend to respond to the pair-to-pair resistance unbalance straw poll and have not done so yet, please respond today (Monday, August 25, 2014), to:

ydarshan@xxxxxxxxxxxxx; and George@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Participants in the last 2 meetings of the ad hoc, from whom we have not received responses will receive a separate email.

For reference, the straw poll was:

Please reply to YDarshan@xxxxxxxxxxxxx and George@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

(AND NOT to ALL or the Reflector!)

At the August 19 meeting of the End to End Channel  Pair to Pair Resistance Unbalance Ad hoc, the following straw poll was proposed (discussion notes materials relating to the straw poll’s subject can be found in the last few ad hoc meeting notes and contributions):

Please respond with: OPTION 1, OPTION 2, OR ABSTAIN

Option 1: Current base line text with 0.1 ohm or 7.5% whichever is greater, as follows:

33.1.4.3 Pair Operation Channel Requirement for Pair to Pair Resistance Unbalance 4P pair operation requires the specification of resistance unbalance between each two pairs of the channel, not greater than 100 milliohms or 7.5% whichever is greater. Resistance unbalance between the channel pairs is a measure of the difference of resistance of the common mode pairs of conductors used for power delivery. Channel pair to pair resistance unbalance is defined by…

Option 2: Equation of the form C_P2PRUNB = (RmaxRmin + 0.08Ω) / (Rmax + Rmin + 0.032Ω)
