[802.3_NGBASET] Late comment for 802.3bz - FW: 802.3bz D0p1 comment

We have had a request to hear a late comment on 802.3bz.  See below for details.

Commenter: Jerome Yu

Company: Real-tek

Clause 126

Subclause 126.3.6.2.3

Page 104

Line 48

Comment: lfer_timer in P104 L48 should be changed to 125/S us in order to keep the same bit error ratio as in 10G.

End Comment:

Suggested Remedy: per comment

End Remedy

Proposed Response: ACCEPT.  The existing text says lfer_timer is 125 x S usec, which is in error.  S = 1 for 5GBASE-T and 0.5 for 2.5GBASE-T. The duration of lfer_timer should not decrease when the LDPC frame time increases, including fewer frames, but rather should at least increase.

Hi George,

Sorry for late comment. I don’t know if it still in time.

lfer_timer in P104 L48 should be changed to 125/S us in order to keep the same bit error ratio as in 10G.

Would you please help to check this. Thank you.

Regards,

Jerome
