[802.3_RTPGE] Announcement: Agenda and Presentation Deadlines for IEEE RTPGE SG Geneva Interim - Deadline Reminder

Colleagues,

The IEEE RTPGE PHY Study Group will be meeting  at the IEEE 802.3 September Interim Session in Geneva, Switzerland.  RTPGE will be meeting Thursday, September 27th through Friday September 28th.  There is no meeting fee, however, meeting registration for access to the ITU facilities is required.

A separate registration is required for the joint ITU-T/802.3 workshop and the 802.3 Interim. Please visit the interims page at http://ieee802.org/3/interims/index.html and follow the links to each registration page.  There is no meeting fee for either meeting. Please register as soon as possible.

This means you will receive two badges, one for the joint workshop on Saturday, and one for the interim. If you will not be at the joint workshop, you (of course) do not need to register for it. Also, please note that there is no meeting hotel for this interim.  Participants are responsible for selecting and booking their own hotel.

Registration information, hotel listings, and meeting details may be found at http://grouper.ieee.org/groups/802/3/interims/geneva_info_0912.html.

You are strongly encouraged to make your reservations as soon as possible.

The agenda for the meeting will be to finish our PAR , Five Criteria and Objectives adopted  by our Study Group in draft form on July 18, 2012 in San Diego. To that end, presentations should address any proposed changes or additions to these draft documents. If you have presentations that do not speak directly to the above, we will tentatively schedule them on a time-available basis. Our most important work item is to have completed the PAR, 5C and Objectives out of this meeting in order to be able to request Task Force status in November.

Please note; Presentations should be kept to a maximum of 20 minutes in duration, excluding time for questions and answers.  Requests for presentation time greater than 20 minutes will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and the requestor should contact the chair prior to making the request to justify the additional time.

Requests for presentation time must be made two Fridays preceding the meeting.  For the September Interim meeting, requests for presentation time shall be made to me and must be made by September 14, 2012.  The presenter shall e-mail a PDF, soft-copy version of the presentation to me by Tuesday of the week preceding the meeting.  For the September Interim, presentations must be submitted by September 18, 2012

Please note that I will be traveling internationally prior to the September 14th. submission date, so please allow additional time if you need to discuss any issues with me prior to the submittal dates. This will likely mean that my ability to post the files to the Website may be delayed until I arrive in Geneva. Please review the meeting minutes from the July plenary as these will need to be approved as a first order of business.

As a reminder, please make sure that all requests for presentations or submissions of presentation material have no restrictive notices at the bottom of the email.  All such emails will be refused and requests / presentations will not be acknowledged.

All individuals submitting presentations should review the Procedures for Presenters Page - http://www.ieee802.org/3/RTPGE/public/presentproc.html.

I would greatly appreciate presenters reviewing their own presentations to verify that they have followed the cited Presentation Style Guidelines.

Also, to support the web site search tool used by the IEEE P802.3 web site the 'Document Information' fields of the PDF file must be completed as

follows:

Title: Title of presentation

Author: Name(s) of author(s)

Subject: IEEE RTPGE

Wishing safe travels to all and we will see you in Geneva.

Best Regards,
