[802.3_RTPGE] TIA TR-42 to IEEE 802.3 on a new project in support of 1000BASE-T1

Colleagues,

The 802.3 WG has received an incoming liaison letter from TIA that concerns
P802.3bp:

pdf

In brief, TIA is starting a project to standardize the P802.3bp Type B 40
meter industrial channel. The work will be based on what P802.3bp has
already adopted as the baseline. One possible outcome might involve
removing the Type B material from P802.3bp, and replace it with a pointer to
the TIA standard. It is always preferred within 802.3 to point to external
standards for cabling when possible.

David Law, the 802.3 WG Chair, has tasked the P802.3bp TF with reviewing the
letter and crafting a reply, should the TF feel that a reply is needed.
Please look this over and be prepared to discuss in Berlin.

Regards,

Steve
