Subject: [802.3_NGEPON] Globecom'16 workshop

All,

As you may know, Globecom’16 is collecting workshop proposals:

http://globecom2016.ieee-globecom.org/content/call-for-workshops

Given the importance of 100G-PON, I think that the conference attendees would find the topic of interest.

And, this could be a good way to publicize the work of the task force, and highlight the progress made so far. (Being in December, it is well timed.)

One concept for the workshop would be for the speakers to present the baseline presentations that have been accepted so far, and highlight issues.

And we would also leave the door open for other speakers, such as universities, to discuss related technology.

The proposal is due in only 5 days.  But at this stage, we only need to show a basic intention to support.

So, I’d like to ask all of you if you would have interest in participating in this workshop.

Please let me know ASAP, so I can tell if there is critical mass.

Sincerely,

Frank E.
