[802.3_10SPE] Presentation requests for July

REMINDER: PLEASE, if you plan to make a presentation at the May meeting, send me an email this week with the approximate title, presenters’ names and time required.

We need presentations on:

  • Long reach:
    • Further definition of the long reach PHY (PCS, especially)
    • Adaptations needed for autonegotiation (remember, right now it won’t work on the long reach)
  • 15m/intermediate-reach
    • What maximum reach is right for this application? (15m, or longer?)
    • 15m link segment characteristics (need proposed IL, RL, etc.)
    • 15m PHY characteristics and tradeoffs (complexity/relative cost vs. long reach) – multidrop or pt-to-pt
  • Multidrop PHY? – strawman proposal, complexity analysis, and topologies

 

Other important topics are:

  • Other use cases
  • Optional MDI connector
