That's what I thought (incrementing). I don't think the standard is explicit about this.
This can be interpreted both ways (zeroing or incrementing) because changing mode
trigger the BEGIN event in figure 57-5. Some implementations may use that to re-initialize
their TLV.

I would increment it.  Did you read something in the standard that made you
think of resetting it to zero?

I have a question on the value of revision field in the local information
TLV
when the DTE is changing mode from active to passive. The issue is when a
DTE first
come up with local_oam_mode=ACTIVE and then later is configured to
local_oam_mode=PASSIVE.
At that time should the revision field resets back to zero or can it be
incremented?
