A reminder to those who may be interested and able to join the Celebration of Hugh’s life next Monday.

The family has informed me that they will be collecting contributions for the Stanford Blood Center at the Celebration.

To friends and colleagues who worked with Hugh Barrass,

It is with the greatest sadness that I have to tell you that Hugh Barrass passed away suddenly last night.  I can’t even attempt to do justice to the level of contribution and impact Hugh has had on the industry through his work in the IEEE standards and beyond.  Hugh’s great humor, insights, knowledge and friendship will be sorely missed by many.

At this time, I do not have any information on any funeral or memorial arrangements but I will forward on details when I know more.  Feel free to reach out to me (mnowell@xxxxxxxxx) if you have any questions.

We will try to gather somehow at next month’s meeting and have a celebration of Hugh’s life.   I know many will want to share remembrances and thoughts,  could you please direct them to the DIALOG reflector only. I think these are archived.

With much sadness,

Mark
