[802.3_DIALOG] IEEE Next Generation Ethernet Passive Optical Network (NG-EPON) report draft 1.0 available for comment

Dear Colleagues,

The IEEE Industry Connections Next Generation Ethernet Passive Optical Network (NG-EPON) Ad Hoc has been chartered to generate a report which will detail: (a) operators' requirements, (b) technological and economic trade-offs of various approaches to next generation EPON, (c) the state of the art for optical subscriber access network technology, and (d) potential solutions that merit further consideration.

This report will be published as an IEEE 802.3 Working Group Communication and therefore will follow the normal approval process for liaison letters. I expect that IEEE 802.3 Working Group approval will be sought during the March 2015 IEEE 802.3 plenary meeting so I wanted to make you all aware that a draft of the evaluation has been issued for comment. Please see the email below for details on how to access the draft and how to submit comments. I expect at least one more draft of the report will be made available prior to the March 2015 IEEE 802.3 plenary meeting.

Best regards,
  David
