The place for discussion or debate of the patent policy is the IEEE-SA Standards Board Patent Committee (PatCom), not the IEEE 802.3 Ethernet Working Group Dialog email reflector. Please use the IEEE official link <http://grouper.ieee.org/groups/pp-dialog/index.html> for this purpose. If participants are interested, they can review the material and submit comments through appropriate IEEE channels.

You may not be aware that the IEEE Standards Association has developed modifications to the patent policy portion of its bylaws. These changes are up for approval by the IEEE Board of Directors at their February meeting. And they are important to every one of us. Please check out
