[802.3_DIALOG] May 2016 802.3 Interim - ground transportation and Wednesday social

Colleagues,

If you have not yet finalized your travel plans to attend the May Interim, scheduled for May 23-27, 2016 at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, BC, Canada, please take a moment to do snow.

  • Whistler Shuttle offers van or bus service from the Vancouver airport (YVR) to the Fairmont as close to your flight times as possible, but you must book in advance; the trip is about 2 1/2 hours; shuttles depart beginning at 8am until 8pm
  • If you have not registered, please do so today; registration includes the opportunity to reserve a gondola ticket and seat at dinner for the Ethernet Alliance's mountaintop social event
  • The Fairmont will still offer the group rate on any rooms that are available; if you haven't booked a room, be sure to book today (you may not be able to find one room type for your entire stay)

Please see the meeting home page for more information about ground transportation options, links to the hotel group reservation page, the meeting schedule, and a link to contact the meeting planner if you have questions:

New eTA requirement for non-U.S. visa-exempt citizens

Citizenship and Immigration Canada has informed us of a new regulation affecting visitors to Canada: Starting March 15, 2016, visa-exempt foreign nationals who fly to or transit through Canada will need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). Exceptions include U.S. citizens and foreign nationals with a valid visa.

To apply for an eTA you must have a valid passport, a credit card, and email address. The cost is $7 CAD and your eTA will be valid for up to five years. You do NOT need an invitation letter or any documentation from the meeting planner. Please apply here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/eta-start.asp

I look forward to seeing you in Whistler!

Regards,

Steve
