[802.3_DIALOG] IEEE P802.3cu IEEE P802.3cu 100 Gb/s and 400 Gb/s over SMF at 100 Gb/s per Wavelength initial IEEE 802.3 Working Group ballot results



Dear Colleagues,

The initial IEEE 802.3 Working Group ballot on the amendment IEEE P802.3cu IEEE P802.3cu 100 Gb/s and 400 Gb/s over SMF at 100 Gb/s per Wavelength closed successfully on 28th February 2020. The ballot exceeded the required 75% for consensus to approve the draft. A series of IEEE P802.3cu Task Force contingent teleconference interim meetings starting on Tuesday 17th March 2020 have been announced <http://www.ieee802.org/3/calendar.html> to consider the 120 comments submitted and determine changes to the draft as appropriate. The availability of the comment has already been announced on the IEEE P802.3cu Task Force reflector.

An additional 2 comments were received after the ballot closed, these comments will be marked as 'late' in the comment report and will be considered by the IEEE P802.3cu Task Force if, based on a vote if necessary, there is no objection to do so.

The ballot statistics are:

 177 Voters
  81 Approve
  11 Disapprove 
  17 Abstain
 109 Ballots returned

  61% Response Rate (> 50% required)
  15% Abstain Rate (< 30% required)
  88% Approval Rate (>= 75% required)
