Beth - it sounds like you remember Dave well, and, I suspect, the way he'd want to be remembered.
He was more than a colleague to many of us - he was a friend.  Dave not only was a go-to guy for server connectivity in Ethernet - he knew what was important, and helped others find it.  Dave strove to make his groups 'the most fun in 802.3' - and he succeeded, at least in my book.  Sometimes, a joke, sometimes a song, sometimes a beer, but always his perspective, I'm going to miss Dave (as I'm sure many of you are). I've talked with many friends today since I got a call this morning, and the feeling is universal.
Dave - we'll miss you.

Thank you David and Kent for informing the group!  I'm shocked.  Yet another reminder to live each day to the fullest.  "Chalupsky" will indeed be missed!  He embraced such a full life; always with a smile, a joke, and a Hawaiian shirt.  I have great memories of chats about music, ethernet, beer, family, life, etc...

Thank you Chalupsky for your contributions to Ethernet, for sharing yourself fully with others, and for making this world a better place.  Rest in Peace, my friend!

I am very saddened to inform you that David Chalupsky has passed away. David was a long-term contributor, as well as Study Group and Task Force Chair, within IEEE 802.3 particularly in the areas of BASE-T and higher speed Ethernet standards. He will be greatly missed.
