Hello! Gathered experts, and friends, dear Members of the IEEE 802.3 EPoC PHY Study Group,

I’ve returned to China, very nice  meeting you and  to discuss EPoC with you in SG’s July meeting in San Diego, CA..Thank you for your attention which you’ve paid to Chinese MSOs’ and manufacturers’ EPoC requirements in this meeting. And I strongly believe that we can get any technical problems solved as long as there exists related requirement. In the coming days, even though I cannot attend your future meetings due to geographic and language barrier (I’m not good at English) , but I hope I can get your latest information about EPoC in time , and I will do my best to work with you on EPoC. I will also do my best to bring together more Chinese MSOs and manufacturers to participate in EPoC.

Let us strive for EPoC together!

Sincerely yours,

Yao Yong,

Concil member, Technical Working Committee of China Radio & TV Association

Folks,

Thanks so much to those of you that attended the meeting yesterday morning in San Diego. I thought we had a great meeting.

Attached please find the notes and action items from the meeting that were captured by Rajeev (thanks for doing that Rajeev!).

The action items includes assignments and leads. We will start discuss them plan for each of the areas on Monday, and hopefully begin reviewing materials for the various work areas.

As we discussed, we will hold weekly meetings starting next week. Our meetings will be held on Mondays, from 10 AM to noon ET. Although not ideal, this timeslot seems to work for people in the Western US while simultaneously working for people in Eastern Europe in the opposite end of the day. I will follow this Email with an Outlook Calendar meeting invitation for the recurring meeting, starting this coming Monday.

Have a great weekend!

Regards,
Jorge

Subject: TDD Team meeting tomorrow, Thursday 7/29 in the AM

SG Colleagues,

As I mentioned during my presentation during our meeting yesterday, a team of individuals interested in the topic of a TDD mode has been meeting regularly between the Minneapolis and San Diego meetings. The objective of the team was to demonstrate the feasibility of a TDD mode for EPoC on a single PHY, and the outcome of this team's activities was to develop the materials that we presented during the meeting yesterday. FYI, in the process the team developed a lot of additional materials and held a lot of discussions that did not make it into the presentation for brevity sake during the meeting.

As I also mentioned during my presentation yesterday, this team will expand its focus to more broadly analyze the feasibility of a TDD mode for EPoC by taking into considerations considerations such as performance, trade-offs versus FDD, etc. In addition, the team will be expanded and open to anyone that would like to participate. The team will continue to meet on a weekly basis, and will hold the next meeting tomorrow, Thursday, at 8:30 AM, right at the hotel. We want to take the opportunity of being together to discuss the plan of activities for the weeks/months ahead.

Please let me know of any comments, questions or suggestions.

Thanks!
Jorge
