Re: [802.3_EPOC] EPoC RF Spectrum Ad Hoc Agenda

I have had my attention called to some good work the DVB group has done in Europe on a second generation standard for digital video transmission, which also seems to have relevance for data transmission. See http://www.dvb.org/technology/standards/index.xml and download the documents under DBV-C2. They are using 4k carriers in 8 MHz, which seems excessive for what we are trying to do, but there is useful information in there - I have not had time to really get my head wrapped around it well, but seems to be very useful.

All,

               I put together a draft list of RF Spectrum Open Issues. We can update this on the call tomorrow with changes as needed and then start to discuss driving to consensus on the specific issues.

               I will update this after each RF Spectrum Ad Hoc call and add it to the minutes.

All,

               This is a reminder that we have an RF Spectrum Ad Hoc call tomorrow at 11 AM Pacific Time (2 PM Eastern Time).

               The bridge information is in the appointment that I sent out previously. I suggest we discuss open issues and then see if we can start to build to a consensus on these issues. I will start an open issues list and we can go over that and update it as needed. Then we can start to see how we can drive toward a consensus so we can make some recommendations to the TF in January. If anyone has a presentation they would like to make please notify me.

Agenda

*         Review IEEE-SA Patent Policy

*         Attendance

*         Open Issues
