[STDS-802-3-EPOC] Lync



All,

               I have been using Microsoft Lync for the conference calls, and several people have had some trouble with it.  So I put in a ticket at our IT department to see if there is a download which you can install, which might make it easier in the future.  I got the following message from our IT department.

It looks like you can download a free Lync client and enable the conference add-in in Outlook.  I hope this helps.

Looking into this a bit further there is a Lync Attendee client that will allow them to join meetings without Lync being installed. Lync is not a free client but the attendee version does appear to be. The download link is below:

As long as both Lync and Outlook are installed they shouldn't have to download anything each time they connect to a meeting. They will also want to be sure that the Outlook Conferencing Add-in is enabled. Below is a link to Microsoft's support page with instructions on enabling the add-in:
