Re: [STDS-802-3-EPOC] Question on FER Objective

Steve,

"Marek" is close enough I guess J

Typically, we use BER for objectives in 802.3, or at least all recent
projects I had pleasure participating in used BER in objectives. If you are
interested in how one BER is recalculated into FER (and vice versa), I would
suggest looking into standard 802 (which is under Sponsor ballot at this
time), subclause 6.3 (Error ratios).

Subject: [STDS-802-3-EPOC] Question on FER Objective

Mark, et. al.,

In our Objectives it says we have a frame error ratio (rate)
of 10^-6 on the downstream and 5x10^-5 on the upstream,

http://grouper.ieee.org/groups/802/3/bn/EPoC_objectives_update_1115.pdf

In 802.3 what frame size is used in this objective?

Thanks,

Steve
