Larger payloads, like Jumbo Frames, were briefly discussed in July as being a separate problem and outside the current scope of the FESG.

Subject: Regarding Jumbo Frames
Hello all.
While I do understand this WG's scope is to define a frame size expansion
for the sake of Header space (MPLS Labels, .1ad, MACSec), and not payload,
I still wonder if any thought was/is given to standardizing the (widely
used) Jumbo Frames. I.e. frame expansion for the sake of more payload in
each frame.
