Re: [802.3BA] Reminder - Call for Presentations September Interim

Dear Task Force Members,

As we approach this coming Friday, I have had several dialogues regarding presentations.  I want to stress to the TF that our first priority for this meeting is to get Draft 0.9 reviewed and a baseline draft adopted.  2nd priority is the resolution of the 40G >= 10km SMF objective.  Therefore, as I receive requests for presentations that do not appear to be related to the 40G >= 10km SMF objective, I will be inquiring as to what particular hole in Draft 0.9 the presentation request addresses.

It is important to realize that it is not necessary for Draft 1.0 to be technically complete. The TF must deliver a technically complete document in order to go to working group ballot.  Therefore, individuals who are considering requesting time to present at this meeting should consider whether their presentation is addressing a hole in the document or providing data needed to get the document to a technically complete stage.  Presentations addressing TBD’s in the document should be held off until the November Plenary.  It is important to maximize the amount of time available for the different sub task forces to review their respective portions of Draft 0.9.

I strongly encourage the Task Force members to take the time now to review Draft 0.9 and come to Korea prepared to get the document to a stage that everyone can agree to as the adopted baseline.

Regards,

Subject: [802.3BA] Reminder - Call for Presentations September Interim

All,

Reminder that presentation requests are due Friday, September 5, 2008, and presentation materials are due by Tuesday, September 9, 2008.  Presentation style guidelines may be found at the Procedure for Presenters web page: http://www.ieee802.org/3/ba/public/presentproc.html.

Please mail all requests for presentations or submissions of presentation material to jdambrosia@xxxxxxxx, and, as a reminder, please make sure that there are no restrictive notices at the bottom of the email.  All such emails will be refused.

The meeting agenda will include the review of the proposed text and resolution of the baseline proposal for the 40G >= 10km SMF objective.  These items will be used to drive the generation and adoption of the baseline draft.  Therefore, presentation submissions should address any holes seen in the current body of work and the baseline proposal for the 40G >= 10km SMF objective.  The meeting will be organized to see if the TF can resolve the baseline proposal for the 40G >= 10km SMF objective prior to starting the review of the proposed text.

Attached is link to initial call for presentations for the September Interim - http://www.ieee802.org/3/hssg/email/msg01353.html

Please note the registration fee for the session is $300 US before 6PM KST Sunday, August 31, 2008 (UTC time 9am Sunday, August 31, 2008), and $400US after August 31, 2008.
