Ground Transportation

The Sheraton Salt Lake City offers complimentary scheduled airport shuttle service for hotel guests with two trips each hour from 5 AM until 11:30 PM. Additional information will be provided to registered attendees via email in advance of the meeting.

Taxi service between the airport and hotel is available for a maximum base fare of $25. Ride sharing services (Uber, lyft) are also available; prices vary. Click for more information.

UPDATE: TRAX, referenced below, is undergoing construction affecting the Courthouse stop. Construction plan information is here.

TRAX, Salt Lake’s light rail system, connects the airport to downtown. The fare is $2.50. Board the train at the south end of Terminal 1 and ride to the Courthouse stop, about 1-1/2 blocks east of the Sheraton. The 35-minute trip passes by myriad shopping and dining areas en route, so it is a good way to get your bearings in the city. Trains depart every 15-20 minutes. Click for more information.

During the week take advantage of the TRAX free fare zone to reach selected downtown destinations that are just beyond comfortable walking distance from the hotel via the light rail line.

About Salt Lake City

Built on a grid plan, Salt Lake City is easy to navigate. Most streets are named for their proximity to South Temple (east/west street) and Main Street (north/south) which intersect at the southern edge of Temple Square. The Sheraton at "150 West 500 South" is on the east/west street "500 South" which is 5 blocks south of South Temple. The 150 West address indicates that it is 1-1/2 blocks west of Main Street.

You'll find dozens of restaurants and pubs in the downtown areas spanning 300 West to 200 East and 500 South to South Temple. Additional restaurants and shops are located in The Gateway, from 400-500 West and 100 South to South Temple; access The Gateway via TRAX.

Enjoy discounts from local businesses using Visit Salt Lake's Show Your Badge Mobile Pass - sign up on the Show Your Badge webpage.

Craft beer enthusiasts can purchase 1-day and 3-day passes to 12 local breweries at

Anyone with a car in Salt Lake City should be aware of Utah's new state law establishing 0.05% blood alcohol as the threshold for drunk driving; this contrasts to 0.08% in all other US states.

Information about dining, getting around, museums, arts venues, events and local recreation is available from Visit Salt Lake. Click here for the group's microsite.

If you aren't in a meeting on Thursday evening consider attending a free rehearsal of the famous Tabernacle Choir from 7:30-9:30pm in the Tabernacle at Temple Square.

Those arriving early may enjoy exploring nearby Wasatch Mountain destinations such as Park City, or venture south into dramatic canyons and iconic landscapes, visiting one of five state and federal parks.
