Re: [802SEC] +++EC Email Ballot+++ENDS 13 JAN+++motion to hold plenary sessions outside NA+++tentative tally
I too fully support the notion of internationalizing IEEE 802 and towards that
end have at least one 802 Plenary outside of North America. However, as I see it
this motion has no impact outside of the EC, except for the EC to be on record
that it supports this notion.
On the other hand, it does force our Executive Secretary to organize a non-NA
venue at all costs. Assuming that this is not a vote on the efforts of our
Executive Secretary and that he would continue to use all means necessary to
find such venues at the earliest possible time. We should have more debate on
the issues such as using convention centers where hotel space is not available.
In the hope of discussing these and more non-NA venues specific issues at the
next earliest possible time during the March EC meeting
I vote disapprove.
