Re: [802SEC] Opening EC meeting and Plenary meeting--possible change in start/stop times

Paul,

I concur with Bob O. as well. I think one area to look at is the
material where the same slide is presented every time. I know we are
trying to help new attendees by going over some of this every time, but
perhaps that isn't in the best interest of old attendees and knowledge
disemination over all of 802. Could we drop some of this and put up one
slide that says "look here on our web site for our structure and rules
if you are new"? Or we could do a pre-tutorial half hour for newbees on
Monday night.

BTW, I may miss some or all of the opening Exec in July. My son is
getting married Sunday July 17 in Sacramento so I expect either to have
a very late night arrival in SF or to drive in Monday Morning. If I do
manage to show up at 8AM Monday morning but look a little bleary eyed,
you will know I have a good excuse.

Pat

Paul,

I concur with Bob O. stay as is, or extend the time. NOT an early start
option.

I vote for keeping things just as they are and adding electric shock
pads to
the lectern to keep the speakers from meandering. It seems to take us
nearly 30 minutes to get through the "overhead" before the chairs get to
report. I think that can easily be cut down to 15 minutes.

I'd rather give up lunch than sleep!

I've vote for later rather than earlier.

change in
start/stop times

Dear EC members,

For the past several plenary sessions we have run out of time on the
opening
plenary meeting, yet it is the only time we gather the entire LMSC
membership for general announcement and status updates.

I propose we start 30 minutes earlier; 10:30am and keep the same finish
time, NOON. That means we would need to start the opening EC meeting
earlier--I propose a 7:30am/10am start/stop time.

Any objections? (.....hearing none.....done!.....oops, wishful
thinking)

Regards,

--Paul
