[802SEC] FW: Invitation to Apply for Membership in SCC 41

Dear EC,

FYI. Note the membership requirements. It seems a good thing that we
will have a liaison to SCC 41.

Regards,

Mike

Subject: Invitation to Apply for Membership in SCC 41

On March 22, 2007 the IEEE Standards Board approved the reorganization
of the IEEE 1900 effort as Standards Coordinating Committee 41 (SCC 41),
Dynamic Spectrum Access Networks (DySPAN). The IEEE Communications
Society and EMC Society are sponsoring societies for this effort, as
they were for the IEEE 1900 effort.

Within the IEEE an SCC is a direct sponsor of standards, reporting
directly to the Standards Board. The IEEE 1900 Steering Committee will
end its work with the April 20 meeting at the DySPAN conference and SCC
41 will be inaugurated at that conference.

This note is to invite interested parties to apply for membership in SCC
41. If you would like to apply for membership send a note reflecting
your interest to Kathy Lawrence at Brianandkathyl@aol.com. Please
indicate 'SCC 41 membership application' in the subject line. Also
provide your name, contact information and a statement of your
experience and interest in the topic of Dynamic Spectrum Access
Networks.

Membership in SCC 41 requires an application for membership and meeting
the participation requirements of SCC 41. These will be explained in
more detail at both the next two plenary meetings in Dublin, Ireland,
April 20, 2007, and Boulder, CO, July 23-26, 2007.

Stephen Berger
