Re: [802SEC] Draft PARs & 5Cs for Body Area Networking and 15.4 MAC enhancement

Bob,

The links seem to be working find now. Sorry I did not get
back to you sooner but last week was very busy.

I looked over the BAN 5C and noticed that it did not address
the coexistence requirement from the P&P,

http://standards.ieee.org/board/aud/LMSC.pdf

17.5.4.1 Coexistence of 802 wireless standards specifying devices for
unlicensed operation

* A WG proposing a wireless project is required to demonstrate
coexistence through the preparation of a Coexistence Assurance (CA)
document unless it is not applicable.

*	The WG will create a CA document as part of the WG balloting
process.
*	If the WG elects not to create a CA document, it will explain to
the EC the reason the CA document is not applicable.

So it seems that the 5C should be updated and should state that a CA
document will be generated. I assume with a new PHY/MAC that such a
document would be appropriate.

As pointed out by Pat the 5C for the 802.15.4e project states that a CA
document will be generated. So I think we are good there.

Regards,

Steve

Steve

I just checked and they are working for me so I do not know what is
going on. I have attached them. I do not think 4e put anything in
specifically because it is a MAC only endeavor. 15.6 is included
directly in the PAR under the last entry of additional comments. If
there is some additional language you would like let us know.

Bob

Bob,

The link to the 5C is broken. I wanted to make sure that the 5C
states that the WG will produce a CA document, but the link is broken so
I could not check.

enhancement

Dear EC Colleagues

The following PARs (and corresponding 5C documents) are being submitted
in
compliance with the 30 day rule for submissions of PARs to the EC:

At the July Plenary, 802.15 passed a motion to submit a draft PAR for a
wireless Body Area Networking standard (802.15.6) for EC approval and
forwarding to NesCom.

At the September Interim Session, 802.15 passed a motion to submit a
draft
PAR for 15.4 MAC enhancements (802.15.4e) for EC approval and
forwarding
to NesCom.

All of these documents can be found on the 802.15 Pending Projects Page
located at:
http://ieee802.org/15/pending.html
